Plain at Sunset
Pianura al tramonto (original Italian title)
A green-blue sky streaked by the wind, and below it a plain lighting up in red, yellow and green: the last light of day on the fields.

A horizon line divides the canvas. Above, an unusual sky, green and blue, crossed by horizontal streaks like clouds stretched by the wind. Below, the plain: bands of red, yellow, green and ochre alternate and merge, with small glints and bubbles of colour, down to a dark, night-green foreground.
An emotional landscape
It does not describe a precise place, but a feeling: that of the fields at the hour when the sun is low and everything turns orange and red. The green sky is that of the clearest twilights, when the light changes quickly and the colour of the sky becomes unreal.
The technique
The acrylic was poured fluid, allowed to run horizontally and mix directly on the canvas. Where the colours meet, small cells, bubbles and veins form: effects typical of poured acrylic painting, giving the surface an almost photographic depth, like a landscape seen through wet glass.
Who it is for
The most “classical” of the abstract works in the catalogue: a landscape everyone can read, bringing the calm of the countryside at sunset into the home. Perfect for a living room or bedroom.
