Spring Storm
Tempesta di primavera (original Italian title)
Red, green, blue and pink collide in a whirl of brushstrokes: a storm of colour, violent and joyful like a spring thunderstorm.

It is the most turbulent painting in the catalogue. Wide, fast brushstrokes chase each other in every direction: a large blue curl at the centre, a flare of red at the top, an explosion of green on the right, pink and yellow seeming to blossom below, and a black shadow rising from the bottom like a cloud heavy with rain.
The gesture
Here painting is pure energy. The acrylic was applied with broad movements of the arm, sometimes dragged, sometimes scratched, leaving visible the traces of the bristles and the overlapping of each pass. It is what art historians call gestural or informal painting: what matters is movement, the instant, emotion becoming mark.
The subject
There is no recognisable subject, yet the title comes naturally. It is the feeling of a spring thunderstorm: the sky suddenly darkening, the wind tossing everything about, and at the same time life bursting out — fresh green, pink blossoms, the sun breaking through the clouds.
Who it is for
For those who love art that never leaves you indifferent. A major wall piece that brings movement, vitality and a pinch of healthy restlessness into a room.
